Snowy suburbs

I snapped a few pics of the Itasca train station while waiting to catch the train back into the city. Clicky to enlarge.

Outbound direction, to Elgin, IL:

Inbound direction, to Chicago:

And the station sign.

The station is about a mile, walking distance for me, from our office. Itasca has well-maintained sidewalks, and my 15-minute journey takes me over I-355, which is a neat experience during rush hour. Here's a pic of that I took during much fairer weather:

The Village of Itasca is also directly in the flight path of runway 9R at Chicago O'Hare airport, so depending on the wind, the walk is neat because you can watch planes descending overhead on their final approach. Here's an overhead map: Google Map with Itasca and O'Hare

I didn't mean to be so emphatic by posting the same blog twice! It must have been my password denial went through after all! And I must say the snow scene does look beautiful.

I've been "monitoring" the weather in Chicago and can only think that it is still superior to what winters in Minneapolis are like!
